Makes you wonder something the media and the inaccuracy of what they're talking about. They call airmen soldiers and they talk about B25's but show B17's. Not major grave errors I guess but still it makes me wonder about subjects that I don't know about and wouldn't be able to pick out the discrepancies .....never the less I'm happy for the family's now able to have some closure

I appreciate our service-members, but I find the use of the word "hero" for everyone one who is killed, specious at best. I'm a veteran and served in the marines. Maybe World War II was a war in which our freedom was being protected, but after that EVERY war has been to spread and protect Americans hegemony at the expense of innocent lives and you don't get a pass because you consented to become an exploited labourer for our corrupt gov't.

That was a generation the likes of which we've not seen since. It truly was the last great war - a war for a real cause- not oil, not terrorists with no face- two sides facing off, making themselves known rather than cowardly roadside bombs - they were enemies, and they knew it. As horrible as WWII was, I have to admire the bravery of those who fought a war in which they knew MILLIONS were dying, and the upfront way they did it. It was a war to save the world, truly.

I wish they'd show more Halifax's than Lancasters, the Halifax being an unsung hero of Bomber Command. It's like when they talk of the Battle of Britain and always show Spitfires (when really there were many more Hurricane's in the air).
